Where do I find my phone number, and can I use it with WhatsApp?

The mobile network assigns your plan's number, so we can't give it to you before you travel. It appears once the eSIM is active and your phone has connected to a network in a country your plan covers. Before your trip, or before that first connection, it is normal to see no number.

Global+ numbers are US numbers and start with +1.

USA+ numbers also start with +1. UK+ numbers start with +44.

Find your number on your phone

Register WhatsApp with your plan's number

You can use the number to register WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp decides whether it accepts a number, so we can't promise it will.

  1. Be in a country your plan covers, with the eSIM switched on and connected.
  2. In WhatsApp, enter the number in full: + and the country code, then the number.
  3. Choose to get the code by text or by call. It arrives on the eSIM's line.

Or keep your usual WhatsApp

You don't need a new number to use WhatsApp abroad. Your existing account keeps working over the eSIM's data, and your contacts reach you on the number they already know. Don't use WhatsApp's Change number just because you installed a travel eSIM.

A plan's number isn't yours for good: after 90 days without an active plan it goes back to the network and can be given to someone else. Don't make it the only way into an account you want to keep.
